Seacoast United Sports Club: Provider Q&A

James Peterson, Sales and Marketing Director for Seacoast United Sports Club participated in a Q&A session as a Learn Everywhere provider.

Q1) Can you tell us a little about your organization?

Making a difference in people’s lives, both on and off the field.

Seacoast United Sports Club was founded in 1992 with the sole purpose of providing opportunities to soccer players of all ages and abilities in the Seacoast area. Paul Willis (President and CEO) was adamant that there was talent in New England and if a player was placed in the right environment, they could achieve anything. This passion and emphasis on making a difference has seen this small soccer club from Hampton, New Hampshire grow into one of the most reputable youth sports organizations in the entire country.

Seacoast United Sports Club provides multiple sports to thousands of athletes across New England. The Club has multiple facilities throughout New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine with a footprint that extends from Taunton, MA to Bangor, ME. Between its club athletes, programs and locations there are over 50,000 people actively involved in the organization.

Seacoast United has changed the sporting landscape in New England and has taught thousands of players, parents and communities the importance of staying active, being positive and making a difference, both and off the field.

Q2) Why did your organization decide to become Learn Everywhere Approved?

Seacoast United Sports Club believes in providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. Coaching is an extension of education and we believe academics is another facet of our holistic approach towards developing not only athletes, but people. The Learn Everywhere initiative will allow Seacoast United athletes to fulfill their physical education requirement with their respective school with the aim that they can use that allotted time to learn a new program/extracurricular activity or allow them to spend more time on other subjects.

Q3) Please describe some of the programming you will be offering for high school credit:

Seacoast United athletes will be able to fulfill their physical education curriculum by participating in one of our year-round athletic programs. Seacoast United adopts a multifaceted approach when developing athletes which focuses on the following key areas: Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological. By working closely with the local New Hampshire schools, Seacoast United will be able to implement this approach more effectively and have it align with our overall curriculum.

Q4) Learning happens everywhere. What are some of the areas of learning or experience that students in your program receive?

Leadership, Accountability, Teamwork, Community, Respect

Q5) How should students and families interested in your programming contact you?

Students and families interested in learning more about the Learn Everywhere program should visit www.seacoastunited.com. They will be able to contact the director of each sport and learn more about the program.

Q6) Anything else you would like to add?

Seacoast United Sports Club continues to evolve as an organization and this latest initiative aligns with our goals of becoming more than a sports club. We are excited to incorporate this into our offerings as it will undoubtedly lead to even more meaningful initiatives that transcend sport.
